Dear Friend,
Do you know that our mouth is a gate? If we open our mouth and express fear, worry, or unbelief, we’ve opened the gate and give Satan a way to come into our situation. Unless we are going to speak the Word or speak what God has to say about a situation, keep the gate locked!
On the other hand, if we speak the Word of God and the will of God regarding a situation, then we give God a way to come into that difficult circumstance. If you face a problem this week and you’re not sure what to do, keep your gate shut until you know what God has to say.
The wise don’t engage in empty chatter.
What good are such words?
4 Have you no fear of God,
no reverence for him?
5 Your sins are telling your mouth what to say.
Your words are based on clever deception.
6 Your own mouth condemns you, not I.
Your own lips testify against you.
Job 15:3,6 (NLT)
God can’t work if we’re repeating empty chatter and using unprofitable words. He can’t help us. We must wait on the Lord and speak the Word of God into our difficult circumstances. Remember, we can’t blame God because he’s told us to trust him and keep our mouth shut—keep our gate closed!
Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to give us just the right scripture in the Word of God. Let’s speak the Word of God and give God access to our lives!
Praise God!
