Dear Friend,
When God is with you, it is impossible for anyone to defeat you. God lays out His promises in His Word. What promises has God spoken into your heart? What are you believing God for in your life?
Trials and tests come, but let’s consider Abraham’s faith.
Yet he (Abraham) did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
Romans 4:20,21 (NIV)
Think about this. How do you think Abraham kept from wavering? It says he didn't waver, but he kept trusting the Lord. The answer is revealed to us in verse nineteen:
And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
Romans 8:19 (NKJV)
Abraham did not waver in faith because he did not consider his body. He did not consider the circumstances or the situation—he only looked at what God promised him.
The key word here is consider. He didn't consider Sarah's old body, even though she was in her 90s. He didn't talk about it. He didn't think about it. He didn't look at it. He didn't focus on it. He had a word from God and he stood on that word and did not consider anything else.
I want to encourage you to believe God this week. All of God’s promises will come true for you and when God gives you a promise, don’t consider anything else—no matter how threatening or impossible it may seem.
Glory to God!
