Dear Friend,

We are not called to run from our enemies, or roll over and play dead. Our God promises to go with us every day and He won’t leave us defenseless.

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV) 

One time when I was pregnant, I saw my neighbor hit my son Jeff in the mouth with her screen door.  She did it on purpose.  I started toward her and she went inside and locked her door. Somebody else saw it and they called the military police.  I wasn’t born again back then.  Even so, I don’t think I’d have hit the lady, but sure wanted to.  This lioness came out of me and I wanted to protect my son.

As Christians we don’t start fights, but we DO protect our loved ones.  Jesus never taught us to be in dread of our enemy, but to automatically speak God’s Word whenever he tries to attack us or our loved ones.

I pray every day, “Lord, just give me that spirit of boldness.”
