Dear Friend,

I heard a story of how a long snake got into the home of a missionary. Frightened, the missionary went out and found an experienced young man who could get the snake out of their home.  The young man chopped off the snake's head with a machete. Even though the snake’s head was chopped off, it continued to thrash around. As the young man was leaving, he warned the missionaries. "It's going to take some time for the snake to realize that he's dead. Until then, he might do some damage."

That’s an interesting story.  It was a pretty big snake, and the young man said it didn’t realize it was dead so it kept thrashing around and destroying everything it came close to, even though it no longer had a head.

That snake sounds like Satan. Satan’s been defeated, but he doesn't know it yet. There’s not one of us that the devil has not damaged in one way or another, including myself.  But remember, one day soon all the devil’s thrashings are going to stop because Jesus is coming back.

When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
1 Corinthians 15:54 (NIV)

We are living in a thrashing time and we need to do everything we can while we can, but please remember—we are the victorious ones.  Jesus is Victor still!

Hallelujah!
