Dear friend,
Anything done outside of love is worthless. God’s values love above all else.
Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:8 (NLT)
1 Corinthians 13 is known by Christians as “the love chapter,” and we often turn there to check ourselves on whether we are demonstrating God’s love. Verse three of this chapter says that if we give our money to the poor, but we don’t have love, it will profit us nothing!
God wants us to come to Him with our personal needs. However, if we have selfish motives, He cannot give us His blessing.
And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.
James 4:2,3 (NLT)
I want to encourage you to check your heart. Is God’s love strong and alive within you? Repent of any selfishness that God shows you. Call out to God to fill you this week with His wonderful love.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13 (NKJV)
Now, I leave you with this precious scripture:
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
2 Corinthians 13:14 (NKJV)
Hallelujah!
