Dear Friend,
Last week we talked about the power of faith that people had in Peter’s shadow as he walked down the street. Crowds of people pressed in around Peter and they were amazed that they were healed and delivered when Peter’s shadow passed over them.
There is an Old Testament example of an act of faith that is quite fascinating, too.
One day bowls of stew were served to people around Elijah. The problem was that the stew had been poisoned.
Some of the stew was served to the men. But after they had eaten a bite or two they cried out, “Man of God, there’s poison in this stew!” So they would not eat it.
Elisha said, “Bring me some flour.” Then he threw it into the pot and said, “Now it’s all right; go ahead and eat.” And then it did not harm them.
2 Kings 4:40,41 (NLT)
Elijah heard the report—there is poison in the pot. We can’t be afraid of hearing the report of what’s going on. If you go to the doctor, don’t be afraid to hear what the doctor reports. Just remember, you serve the God who can kill the poison in your system just as He killed the poison in that pot of stew.
May you prosper and be in health this week. Let faith arise in your soul.
Hallelujah!
Pastor Jo
