The world is growing darker all around us. Obstacles oftentimes come our way on a personal level and on a national level, and we wonder where to turn. Let’s turn our eyes on Jesus, our Lord and Good Shepherd, who brought comfort to the psalmist, King David. David writes:
He makes me whole again,
steering me off worn, hard paths
to roads where truth and righteousness echo His name.
Even in the unending shadows
of death’s darkness,
I am not overcome by fear.
Because You are with me in those dark moments,
near with Your protection and guidance,
I am comforted.
Psalm 23:3,4 (Voice)
David knew that God was near to guide him and protect him. You can almost hear him sigh as he writes, “I am comforted. God is with me.” And you know, God is with you in the dark places, too. Obstacles will come our way. Jesus Himself warned us that in the last days difficult times will come, but our Shepherd will never leave us.
No matter how dark it gets, remember your Good Shepherd is with you to steer you onto the right path and deliver you from death’s shadows.
Glory to God!
