Dear friend,

The most popular prayer request we receive from our friends at Speak the Word Ministries is for their prodigals or unsaved loved ones to come to Christ. People are especially burdened for the salvation of their children or grandchildren. The Word of God tells us that the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. (See Proverbs 11:21). Maybe you are wondering how to pray for your own straying family member.

Although the enemy is working to lure our family members away from us and away from God, we do have power and authority to command Satan to remove the blinders from their minds.

The ruler of this world has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They cannot see the light of the Good News—the message about the divine greatness of Christ. Christ is the one who is exactly like God.
2 Corinthians 4:4 (ERV)

Demons dwell in a dark world and they work to blind the minds of people who don’t believe in God so that they can’t see His light.  It can feel frustrating at times because we can see the light, but oftentimes unbelievers can’t seem to see God’s light or grasp it. What do we do? 

5 We don’t tell people about ourselves. But we tell people that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we tell them that we are your servants for Jesus.

We are called to talk about Jesus. We are called to pray that God opens the minds of our loved ones.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
John 8:12 (NKJV)

May the Lord God open the minds of our loved ones this week to see Jesus, the light of the world!
