Dear Friend,

All week long you and I will make many choices. You make a good choice when you listen to God’s Word.  God speaks to us through His Word, through other people, through music, through words of knowledge, through teaching, and through prophecy.

To prophesy is to make a declaration of events to come or to declare the unknown. A prophecy cannot be known by man’s knowledge, but is revealed by God. In the Old Testament, God tells us the story of his servant Ezekiel. Long story made short, God told Ezekiel to prophesy to the dry bones down in a valley and tell them to come to life. Ezekiel obeyed God and flesh grew on those dry bones and people came to life. Imagine that sight!

In the New Testament, John the Baptist prophesied for years that Jesus the Messiah was coming.  He was the forerunner of Jesus and announced to the people of his day what was about to take place and who was coming.

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Job 22:28 (KJV)

I want you to notice three things that happen when we decree something that God has said in His Word:

1. We SHALL decree
2. It SHALL be
3. God’s favor will shine upon us

As you begin your week, rise up and decree what God says in His Word. Know that His Word SHALL be and when you speak God’s Word, His favor will shine on you.

God’s Word is alive in you!
