We are called to be a light in the darkness, perhaps especially during this holiday season when we encounter more people as we visit family, stores, and church services. Of course, if you light a candle in a sun-lit room, few people will pause to notice it. If it’s a fragrant candle, they may enjoy the perfume and look for the candle that is producing that fragrance.
If you light a candle in a room that is completely dark, every person in that dark room will immediately look at the flame of light. It’s the same with you and me.
When it is darkest in the world around us, our light will be the most noticeable to unbelievers. This is true even around our Thanksgiving table with family members who do not yet know the Lord. Do not fear the darkness in their lives. Enter that room with God’s love and God’s light.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)
This is the perfect time of year to speak the Word over your family, neighbors, and friends. Declare God’s Word over your family and watch God establish that Word in their lives!
You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways.
Job 22:28 (NKJV)
Speak the Word Ministries wishes you and your family a Happy and Shining Thanksgiving!
