Dear friend,
It is said that on earth people chase after gold. In heaven, people walk on gold. That’s true!
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls:
every gate was of one pearl:
and the street of the city was pure gold,
as it were transparent glass.
Revelation 21:21 (NKJV)
Heaven is not a myth. It is a glorious place and it has a city there that was built by God. He formed it, furnished it, and it bears the stamp of His power and personality. Earthly houses need updates and renovations. They need to be dusted, vacuumed, cleaned, and repaired. The city of heaven will never crumble or decay. When God showed John the city of heaven, an angel measured it.
The angel who talked to me held in his hand a gold measuring stick to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.
When he measured it, he found it was a square, as wide as it was long. In fact, its length and width and height were each 1,400 miles.
Then he measured the walls and found them to be 216 feet thick (according to the human standard used by the angel).
Revelation 21:15-17 (NLT)
The book of Revelation names the twelve foundation stones of heaven’s city walls: jasper, sapphire, agate, emerald, onyx, carnelian, chrysolite, beryl, topaz, chrysoprase, jacinth, and amethyst. The twelve gates of the city are made of pearls and Main Street is pure gold, clear as glass.
While you’re on this earth, don’t chase after gold. Chase after God! One day your feet will touch that street of smooth, clear gold.
I’ll see you there!
