Dear Friend,
The Word of God gives us a picture of what things will look like in the last days before Jesus returns. It’s fascinating to realize that the New Testament was written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit during the first century, yet it paints such an accurate picture of today’s modern society.
Let’s see what to expect in the days to come, by reading an easy to understand translation, The Living Bible:
In the last days it is going to be very difficult to be a Christian.
2 For people will love only themselves and their money; they will be proud and boastful, sneering at God, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful to them, and thoroughly bad.
3 They will be hardheaded and never give in to others; they will be constant liars and troublemakers and will think nothing of immorality. They will be rough and cruel, and sneer at those who try to be good.
4 They will betray their friends; they will be hotheaded, puffed up with pride, and prefer good times to worshiping God.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 (TLB)
There’s no doubt about it—sin hurts people. Sin destroys order and brings chaos, it tears apart families and brings disrespect. Sin entices people to betray their friends and, perhaps worst of all, sin brings pride. A proud person doesn’t think they need God at all. What deception!
There is so much darkness around us today, but with God on our side, we can do damage to the darkness. With God on our side, we can help people look at Jesus on the cross and see Him in holy, victorious resurrection power. And that’s the key to free people from the chains of sin.
With God, all things are possible!
