Dear Friend,

When the Holy Spirit came to the 120 Christians gathered in the upper room, He swooped in with loud wind that filled up the whole room. The Holy Spirit alighted on each prayer warrior in visible, lighted flaming tongues. God knows how to make an entrance!

One of the first things to leave the 120 Christians gathered there was the spirit of fear.  Gone was the earlier cowardice inside of Peter, that spirit of fear that had incited him to deny that He knew Jesus.  In fact, now that the Holy Spirit came, Peter and the others boldly proclaimed that salvation comes through Jesus!

And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:31 (NKJV)

Of course, the devil resisted the apostles and the thousands of new believers who came to salvation through their preaching. The light of God was everywhere, and demons can’t stand the light of God’s people. While scripture tells us to resist the devil, we can rest assured that the devil is resisting us! Our light burns his eyes, exposes his lies, and makes people aware of how evil comes from this prince of the power of the air. ‘

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you check your own heart. Ask Him to come and increase His power, boldness, and authority so that fear has no place in you.

This week, may you be filled with the Holy Spirit in boldness and power!
