Dear Friend,

The Bible tells us that the greatest quality that you and I can have is love. The Apostle Paul wrote:

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13 (NLT)

When Jesus walked the earth, a lawyer approached him and asked Jesus, “What is the greatest commandment?” Let’s look at Jesus’ reply:

Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
Matthew 22:37-39 (NKJV)

Jesus said the most important command is to love God and love people. Sometimes people hurt our feelings and it becomes hard to love them. But God’s will is that we forgive people and keep going—never stop loving God and loving people.

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
1 John 4:8 (NKJV)

If you’re not feeling the love or not feeling like forgiving someone, then begin to declare God’s love over yourself! After a time, you will begin to flow in the love of God. If you’re finding it hard to forgive someone, then pray this way: Father God, I forgive that person by faith in Jesus’ name. I know you are inside of me and the Bible says, “God is love.” I trust you to help me forgive this person and I even pray you will bless them. In Jesus’ name, amen.
