Saints, in this message you’ll learn that all of the thoughts you have are not yours (thoughts of anger, thoughts of unforgiveness). You will learn that the devil has used your own words to TRAP you. He is so subtle that most of the time you are not even aware that its him; he makes you think they’re your thoughts. Only with the help of the Holy Spirit can we bring each thought into captivity.
Prayer for 'Trapped by Your Tongue'
Father, according to Your Word, we are trapped by what we say and ensnared by the words of our mouths. We have allowed the devil to use our own words to trap us.
We have allowed ourselves to be deceived by Satan because he is so subtle that we aren’t ever aware that it’s him who is feeding us those negative thoughts - feeding us lies - and he tricks us into saying things to trap us. Father, You said that no man can Tame his tongue for the tongue is unruly and evil.
Father, help us to understand that the Holy Spirit is the only one who can help us tame our tongues.
Help us Lord to put a bridle on our tongues and a guard on our mouths at all times and to only allow good things to come forth. Teach us O Lord, not to use our tongues to back bite or gossip but help us to train them to build up and encourage those around us.
Father, according to your word in 1 Peter 3, “If we love life and want to Live a Good Long Time, then we have to be careful what we say. So Lord today I submit my tongue to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to teach me and help me to not talk about improper things. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
