Dear Friend,
Let’s think about these words:
ENTER FAITH, EXIT DOUBT.
ENTER DOUBT, EXIT FAITH.
Here’s a Bible story. One night just before sunrise, a storm arose on the lake. The storm was brutal and the waters were dark. Suddenly, they saw what they first thought to be a ghost walking across the water! As soon as they realized it was Jesus, Peter spoke up:
Peter said, “Lord, if that is really you, tell me to come to you on the water.” Jesus said, “Come, Peter.”
Then Peter left the boat and walked on the water to Jesus. But while Peter was walking on the water, he saw the wind and the waves. He was afraid and began sinking into the water.
He shouted, “Lord, save me!”
Then Jesus caught Peter with his hand. He said, “Your faith is small. Why did you doubt?”
Matthew 14:28-31 (ERV)
Notice that it was when Peter SAW the winds and waves, he was terrified and began to sink. But when Peter cried, “Lord, save me,” Jesus IMMEDIATELY reached out and grabbed him. Peter began to sink because of his fear. This fear was able to come upon Peter because he took his attention off of Jesus and put it on his situation. Does that sound familiar?
Friend, fear and doubt cannot just overcome you. You have to let them in. Like Peter, we sometimes take our attention off of Jesus and look around at our circumstances—and that can lead you back into carnal thinking.
If you feel like you are DROWNING today and you are feeling weak in faith, turn your attention back to Jesus as Peter did and He will SAVE you too. “NO PROBLEM IS TOO BIG FOR OUR GOD.” Enter faith—exit doubt!
