Dear Friend,

I trust you are ready to go forward this week with your shield of faith the sword of the Spirit, God’s Word. Troubles may swirl around us, but God says, “Do not fear for I have redeemed you. I have summoned you by name and you are mine!” (See Isaiah 43:1).

If your heart is heavy today, ask God to show you if there are anxious thoughts running through your mind. Anxiety and worry can weigh us down and immobilize us.

An anxious heart weighs a man down,
but a kind word cheers him up.
Proverbs 12:25

Why not sow a few kind words into someone else’s life? Show the love of God by showing another person acceptance, kindness, and hope.

One of the hardest things that we face in our temporal earthly life is the passing of a loved one from here to heaven. Yet the Word of God says, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” And if Jesus is with you, you have more than enough! Why don’t you pray this prayer with me right now?

“Lord, I thank you that even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, because I know that you are with me, that your rod and your staff, they comfort me. I thank you that the Holy Spirit is my Comforter and, when I need comfort, He comforts me. And I thank you, Lord, that no evil shall come near my dwelling, because I dwell in the secret place of the Most High God, and I abide in the shadow of the Almighty, whose power no foe can withstand. Thank you, Lord!”
