Dear Friend,
God loves to do extraordinary things through ordinary people. When Jesus chose His twelve disciples, he didn’t look in the synagogues, the temple, or the halls of education. Jesus chose ordinary blue collar fishermen and tax collectors, people who were earnestly desiring the way, the truth, and the life. Big numbers didn’t matter to Jesus. Higher education and pretty faces didn’t matter to our Lord. He looked beyond what others said about those first disciples and He saw their potential. Jesus looks beyond what you think of yourself and what others say about you. He sees your potential, too.
If God chose a perfect person with no character flaws, all the glory would go to that person. Instead, God chooses flawed people like myself with a bad past, a shaky present, and an uncertain future! God chooses us and uses us by His Holy Spirit.
‘Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of Hosts.
Zechariah 4:6b (NKJV)
God will not tolerate human pride. He chooses people who have nothing to brag about. God’s Holy Spirit teaches us and fills us so that God alone gets the glory.
We have nothing to brag about! All that we have, we owe to God. All that we are, we owe to God! We are students of the Holy Spirit and followers of His Kingdom!
All glory to our God!
