Dear Friend,

When we receive Jesus as our Savior, we become a new person. The Bible says we become a new creature. The old sinful things that we used to care about are gone. We’re on a new road now and that person in the past doesn’t exist anymore. Only God can change a person. Only God can forgive like this!

“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake;
And I will not remember your sins.”
Isaiah 43:25 (NKJV)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

Satan likes to put thoughts in our minds. He likes to remind us of our past or throw guilt on us for something we did last year or last week. If we ask the Lord to forgive us of our sin, He will do it. Don’t doubt that. 1 John 1:9 promises us that God is faithful to us and He is even just in forgiving us of sin. Why? Because Jesus paid the penalty. Jesus took our jail time. Jesus took our punishment.

Despite all your many offenses, He forgives and releases you.
     More than any doctor, He heals your diseases.
He reaches deep into the pit to deliver you from death.
    He crowns you with unfailing love and compassion like a king.
Psalm 103:3,4 (VOICE)

Oh, that we could understand the love of our God! If we could just pause and take in the enormous unfailing love in God’s heart toward us, then we would know He is always ready and able to forgive. He will reach into the lowest pit and, in great compassion, lift us up out of that hole and deliver us from death.
