Dear Friend,

If you are a child of God, then you are a child of Light—and you will stand out brightly in this dark world!

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.
Walk as children of light.
Ephesians 5:8 (NKJV)

Of course, the life of Jesus Christ within us is the central power source of our shining light.

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
John 1:4 (NKJV)

When the darkness of evil increases, God’s children will naturally carry God’s light into whatever shadowy space they enter.  But beware. People who desire to live in sin don’t want to be exposed.  Our light will expose sin.  Sometimes that light will agitate sinners but, glory to God, sometimes our light will draw them closer to us, and closer to our God. For the sake of the people around us, we are admonished in scripture to live upright lives and watch our tongues! 

Do all things without complaining and disputing,
that you may become blameless and harmless,
children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation,
among whom you shine as lights in the world.
Ephesians 2:14,15 (NKJV)

When I think back to the days when we faced COVID-19, I know there were times all of us were tempted to complain. It seemed everyone disputed the origins and the impacts of this disease. However, God shows us a higher way, the way in which we walk with Him and shine as lights in the world.
