Dear Friend,

Our God can be trusted. We are wise when we choose to rely on God and not ourselves. It’s amazing to see the trials that Paul endured, even when he was right in the center of God’s will for his life. The Apostle Paul admitted to being crushed and overwhelmed to the point that he thought he and his friends would die.

I think you ought to know, dear brothers, about the hard time we went through in Asia. We were really crushed and overwhelmed, and feared we would never live through it.
2 Corinthians 1:8 (TLB)

When the COVID virus came, many wondered when it would end. Some expected to die and, sadly some did pass away. The important thing is that, whether we live or die, we stop relying on ourselves. God wants us to rely only on Him.

In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.
10 And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.

2 Corinthians 1:9,10 (NLT)

Paul wasn’t complaining about hardships, he was testifying to God’s grace and provision. He confidently stated that God would continue to rescue Him, and I believe that God will continue to rescue you and me, too!

May the Lord keep you safe in His hands this week,

Pastor Jo
