Dear friend,
Americans celebrate Thanksgiving this week. As a child of God, we have so much to be thankful for! If you are like David and me, you have received mailings inviting you to give a free meal or financial assistance to those in need. It can be challenging to know where to “sow our seed” of money.
I want to encourage you to give to those in need and give where you are being fed. That’s biblical!
Let him who is taught the Word share in all good things with him who teaches.
Galatians 6:6 (NKJV)
Notice that the Word of God says to share in all good things. Think about the places and people where you are being fed the Word of God. Here are a few ways we can give to those leaders that help us:
Send that minister an encouraging word on how their ministry has blessed your life
Pray for them
Give as God leads you
Give with the right spirit, not with ulterior motives, expecting God to bless you just because you gave Him money.
And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.
James 4:3 (NLT)
Giving to get? That’s not the right motive! Ask God to help you in your giving. He has a list of people that He wants to bless, and He may use you to bless them!
Praise God!
