Dear Friend,
A large forest fire can burn down thousands of acres of trees and private property.
It’s hard to believe that so much destruction oftentimes comes from the flame of one small match.
The Word of God compares our tongue to that one small match that can cause a lot of trouble!
See how great a forest a little fire kindles!
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity.
James 3:6 (NKJV)
You can set on fire the course of nature by what you speak. In fact, you can turn around almost overnight just by renewing your mind and changing the way you think and speak. How can you do that? Speak the Word of God and learn to hold your tongue from saying whatever it wants to say!
Watch your words and hold your tongue;
And you’ll save yourself a lot of grief.
Proverbs 21:23 (MSG)
If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless.
James 1:26 (ESV)
I want to encourage you this week to watch your words. Speak blessings over your life and over the lives of others. Be careful what you say!
God bless you!
Pastor Jo
