Dear Friend,
Do you ever feel “stressed out?” Elijah felt stressed out one time because Queen Jezebel and all her soldiers were searching for him to kill him. God came to Elijah in the time of his greatest anxiety, when he was hiding in a cave, of all places. Look at what God told Elijah to do when he was stressed out:
Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord,
but the Lord was not in the wind;
and after the wind an earthquake,
but the Lord was not in the earthquake;
12 and after the earthquake a fire,
but the Lord was not in the fire;
and after the fire a still small voice.
I Kings 19:11,12 (NKJV)
When Elijah heard that still, small voice he knew it was the Lord! The Lord asked him a question. The Lord wanted to talk to Elijah, but He also wanted Elijah to talk to Him. The Lord even showed Himself to Elijah.
No matter what thought troubles you today, God has the answer. I want to encourage you to make the time to get quiet before your God.
Tell God, “I’m listening, Lord.”
Remember, He speaks in a still, small voice.
Praise the Lord!
