Dear Friend,

As we enter the year 2024, it’s so important to lean in closely to hear the still small voice of the Lord. King David was a shepherd in his youth. He thought of the Lord as His own personal shepherd and wrote down these words that are familiar to us today:

The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.

Psalm 23:1 (NLT)

We see in John chapter ten that Jesus also likens himself to being the Good Shepherd. It’s vital to Jesus that we hear His voice when He calls to us. He wants us to follow Him so He can keep us, feed us, and lead us out into the unknown territory of 2024.

But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep . . .
and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him.
He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

John 10:2,3 (NLT)

Have you received Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord of your life? If so, then you can know that Jesus promises to lead you and speak to you. He will call you by name and teach you to recognize His voice.

After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them,
and they follow him because they know his voice.

John 10:4,5 (NLT)

If we promise our Good Shepherd, Jesus, that we will follow Him in 2024, then He will help us to hear Him when He calls. He will lead us out of 2023. He will walk ahead of us in 2024, gather us together as one flock, and lead us to fresh water and green pastures. Glory to God!

The Lord is MY Shepherd in 2024!

Hallelujah!
