Dear Friend,

You know, we are headed into a new week and your mind is going to store everything that comes down the pike! Our human mind is a computer-like storage system that collects information. We can concentrate on all that information or we can renew our minds by studying the Word of God.

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:16 (KJV)

When we study the Word of God, we are renewing our minds.

Be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
and (that you) put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:23,24 (NKJV)

Renewing our minds is a process and it takes time as we study the Word. My point is this: You may have little control over your immediate emotional reactions to situations, but with the help of the Holy Spirit you can control your outward responses.

All of our battles begin in our minds. This is how Satan is able to deceive us—through our thought life. He works to hold us in bondage and convince us that we will be permanently enslaved to our past. Do not give in to the temptation to feel guilty or unworthy. God’s Word says that you are a new creature in Christ! He has made you new and there is no condemnation piling up against you anymore.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ
Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Romans 8:1 (NKJV)
