There are hundreds of scriptures about the mouth and its power. When judgment day comes, the Bible tells us that we will be proved innocent or guilty by the words we speak! Matthew 12:36 tells us we will give an account for idle words.

Don’t speak your troubles. Don’t speak your worries. Resist thinking or speaking negative thoughts about people or circumstances.  Speak what the Word of God says.  Put a guard over your mouth and your soul will not be troubled by all that is going on around you.

Whoever guards his mouth and tongue, keeps his soul from troubles.
  Proverbs 21:3 (NKJV)
