Dear friend,

Are you tempted to think or say negative things about yourself?  There is a man in the Bible named Gideon who thought and spoke bad things about himself.  God knew what Gideon was thinking, so He spoke to Gideon and told him God’s thoughts!

And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, The Lord is with you, you mighty man of [fearless] courage.
Judges 6:12 (AMPC)

God said this to Gideon before Gideon won his first battle. In fact, Gideon was trembling and hiding in a wine press when God spoke to him. Let’s look in scripture to see Gideon’s exact reply to God.

So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”
Judges 6:15 (NKJV)

Bible teacher Joyce Meyer says, “You can either be pitiful or powerful.”

Gideon kept putting himself down.  If you are tempted to put yourself down in your thoughts or with your own words, remember that God can strengthen you to the point that you can do anything!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

This week, if you hear negative thoughts coming to your mind, tell them to go away, in Jesus’ name. Speak the Word! This is your week to be powerful, not pitiful!

Say, “I believe God’s Word. I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!”

Glory to God!
