Dear Friend,
I had a young man tell me today that all his life he had been seeking riches, only to come to the conclusion that he was already a very rich man! Sadly, he almost lost it all.
For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
1 Timothy 6:10
Money is never the problem. Loving money more than loving people or loving money more than loving God is the problem.
Seek after the ONE who provides all your needs and, like Solomon, God will give you what you have not asked for—both riches and honor.
Solomon’s story is in 1 Kings 3:5-13. God came to King Solomon in a dream and asked Solomon what he wanted. Solomon asked for wisdom and a hearing heart so that he would know how to rule as a righteous and wise king over God’s people. It pleased God that King Solomon did not ask for riches for himself, but for wisdom to do God’s will in his life. Look at how God responded to Solomon:
And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days.
1 Kings 3:13 (NKJV)
God bless you as you seek the ONE who provides all your needs!
