Dear Friend,

Do you know that you have the authority to speak the name of Jesus? Perhaps you wonder how that works. It means that you can speak to sickness, you can speak to cancer, you can speak to diabetes, you can speak to arthritis, you can speak to your debts. Even as Jesus spoke to everything, so can you.

The name, “Speak the Word Ministry,” is based on the story of the centurion who came to Jesus. The centurion was not a Jew or a disciple, yet he had faith that impressed Jesus. He came to Jesus and he asked him to heal his servant who was paralyzed and tormented with sickness.

And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.
For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
Matthew 8:7-9 (NKJV)

You see, this centurion knew what it was to walk in authority. He had servants around him every day and those servants did whatever he told them to do. Nobody argued with the boss! They just did what they were told. Let’s look at Jesus’ reply:

When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!
Matthew 8:10 (NKJV)

I want to encourage you to walk in your God given authority this week. Tell torment, fear, sickness, pain, anger, debt, or division to obey the Word and bow before the name of Jesus!
