Dear Friend,

The Bible says that after Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit, He healed people who were under the power of the devil. It’s true!

(How) God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
Acts 10:38 (NIV)

If Jesus needed the power of the Holy Spirit, then we do, too. The good news is that Jesus gives His followers authority over the enemy.

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luke 10:19 (NKJV)

Jesus has given you authority to step on the neck of the serpent—the devil. He says even the sting of the scorpion is under your foot.  Picture that scorpion squashed—and on the bottom of your shoe! The devil does all he can to hurt God’s children, but Jesus said He will give us His authority to trample down all the powers of the devil.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things?
If God is for us, who can be against us?
  Romans 8:31 (NIV)

Step on that scorpion by faith and squash its sting. If God is for you, you win!

Hallelujah!
