Dear Friend,
The words you spoke somewhere in your past have shaped your life today. When I lived in North Carolina, my license plate read, “Proverbs 18 21.” What an important verse to remember!
Death and life are in the power of the tongue.
Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)
Just look at the power of words in a jury trial:
• A witness’s words determine the fate of the defendant
• A jury delivers a verdict that literally determines the fate of the defendant
• Testimonies given determine guilt or innocence
When we talk, we speak words that render life or death, blessing or cursing. Our words open doors and shut doors. We all stumble from time to time in what we say with our mouths. If you’ve said the wrong thing, ask God to forgive you. Then forget that past mistake and get up and go again this week!
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.
Philippians 3:13 (NKJV)
Reach forward to all that God has for you this week. Speak God’s Word and walk in His way and His blessing!
Glory to God!
