Dear Friend,

Do you know that if you get into fear, the devil can deceive you into almost anything? It’s true. A person who is fearful will be tempted to believe everything they see and hear. This happened in the lives of the people who walked with Jesus every day. Although they saw Jesus perform miracles all week long, they were terrified when they saw Him walking on the water.

About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!” But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”
Matthew 14:25-27 (NLT)

You see, the disciples forgot the miracles they just saw. They forgot that the blind see, the deaf hear, and the lame walk whenever Jesus is around. They forgot that Jesus had just multiplied the loaves of bread and the fish so everyone could eat.

They didn’t meditate on Jesus’ works and they became hardhearted and fearful.

What has the Lord done for you in your life? Can you testify of a situation where the Lord stepped in and helped you? Think about that this week, and take courage!
